The sound of a quill nib scratching on old parchment was a sound that most found annoying. Brandon was the exact opposite as he found the sound oddly soothing. Considering his new job, it was a small blessing given the noise and stress generated in the classroom. The class was gone but he'd remained after, marking a few parchments as well as creating some notes. The year had recently started, the excitement of a new school year buzzing like an electricity amongst the students and techers. Brandon was still learning his way around Hogwarts and it was rather embarassing to admit he'd gotten lost more than once. Each time he'd had to ask a student for aid. The students, a diverse and fascinating group of young people in Brandons mind. Each following their own path in life, each learning new things and it was exciting to think he was a part of it. Brandon wanted to do everything he could to make the experience perfect for his class and anyone else who needed guidance. A small 'meow' caught his attention. "I know Matthias," Brandon said, glancing at his fellow feline companion, "You're hungry but I'm meeting a student. Once I'm done, you're more than eat half the stash in the room." The cat growled, then leapt up onto the back of Brandon's chair. Purring lightly Matthias snuggled up onto Brandon's shoulder before taking his spot on the corner of the wooden desk. tag: Sonne

Sonne sighed quietly before she lifted her hand up and knocked three times. She knew that she sucked at transifugrations. Those five years she was lucky. No one noticed and she got trough the exams, though, it wasn't so easy. She didn't know what professor will ask her to do. Practise with magic or just write down stuff from the books. Whatever. Her blue hair was up in a ponytail so it won't disturb her in whatever action she will do in this classroom.
Then, taking a deep breathe, she opened the door and looked in. First she didn't see anything and then hope grew inside of her. Maybe professor is late so she won't have to appear here. She could just go back into the common room and read her books and enjoy the loneliness! But then she had to sigh quietly. She saw the professor behind the table, talking with the cat. Damn it! Taking a deep breathe trough her nose, she bit her lip and stepped in, closing the door behind her.
“Hope I didn't make you wait, professor,“ she said quietly while stepping forward. Finally, she stood infront of the table and looked at him.

Brandon smiled in response, "Nope, not at all. Although I'm sure my cat would argue otherwise." Matthias let out a small hiss in response. "Shush now, don't be rude when we have a guest. Please, have a seat Miss Soul."
He waited for her to sit, giving herself a moment to breathe before he continued, "Can I ask how you're finding the new school year? Settling into your classes alright?"

Sonne didn't smile at him. Instead of it, she gave a short nod before sitting down as he gave her the order. Then, she looked at the cat and grinned at it. Right. She had a kitty, too. The girl, to be certain.
Then she looked back at the professor and shgurred. "Yes, I'm settling into my classes, that's right," she said quietly. It wasn't complicated for her, though. The new year and they were just talking about the stuff what they learned last year.

Brandon nodded his head, taking in her answer. It was obvious she wasn't that interested in his question. It was even more obvious that she would rather be anywhere on the planet then listening to another single word from him.
"Miss Soul, I couldn't help noticing," he said as he pulled out some old parchments, "That when it comes to your previous transfiguation classes, the teachers didn't leave much for me to go on. I was hoping you could shed a little light on your previous history."
He picked up a quill and twirrled the feather around, "Do you enjoy transfigurations?" he raised an eyebrow, "After so many years I would assume you could handle quite a few difficult spells."

Yes, Brandon was right. Sonne wasn't interested in quite traditional questions. They made every converesation boring and with no use. So she just stared at him, hoping that this time, something normal will come out from his mouth. When he finally mentioned the last years, Sonne bit her pierced lip.
"I don't remember much about my fifth year," she said calmly. She was a human and forgetting was the part what every mortal living did. And she wasn't perfect as well. Far from it. "But you can also look for it in the old scrapbooks what teachers have made. I'm sure that they must be here somewhere," she added, grinning at him.
Then she sighed again. Quietly, but she did. "Yes, I do enjoy transfigurations. It's an interesting art of magic. And as I am interested in animagus and metaformagus, then yes, guess that these two are related," she explained her reason why she liked transfigurations. "After so many years? I guess I could, but I'm not good at this," Sonne added again. She was good at speaking with snakes and reading books in the darkness. That was all.

"Transfigurations is all in the mind Miss Soul. The spells are simple, it's the mind that makes it hard."
He stood up from his desk, Matthias jumping off the edge of the table at the same time, "I'd like to ask you to perform a spell for me." he took out his wand, "Accio walking stick." he mumbled, a large walking stick flying out from the closet a second later.
"Transform this into a snake." he said handing her the large stick," Remember, conscentrate on snakes. Think of what you want it to become. Then when you're ready, the spell as you already know is Fera Verto."

Sonne watched as he got up and when she heard what he wanted her to do, she held back a groan. God! Then she got up and took her wand out. At least he wanted her to make a Snake!
She looked at the 'walking tick' and took it from his hand. A walking stick into a snake... She repeated this many times in her head. They had done this last year but she didn't remember much about it. Concentration -- she could do that, but transfiguration... She nodded to herself and pointed with her wand at the stick. Stick to a snake! Stick to a snake! she repeated:"Fera Verto," she said quietly. Waiting for the stick turn into the snake, she had to disapoint herself. The stick was still in her hand, not even moving.
Then she sighed and shrugged. "I'm not good at transfigurations," she repeated her own thoughts out loud and gave the stick back to the professor.
