"Don't say that, "Brandon said holding out his hands for the long wooden stick, "I think you just need to learn how to control your mind. The words just begin the process, the rest take place up here." he tapped his head.
Brandon held the staff out, "Try again, this time with me holding it. Imagine the snake wrapping around my hand, think of the color. Make it specific. You can do it.
He didn't want to push her nor did he want her to feel that she was being forced into it. There was just a part of him that was positive she could do it. Sonne had the potential for a lot of things, most of which she'd yet to realize. Brandon could remember when he was young feeling the same regarding many of his other classes.

Sonne stared at the stick, then back at him. He tryed to make her more consern or what? She looked at the staff and sighed quietly. Atleast he gave her the instructions how to do it all. Sonne took a deep breathe and nodded again. No, she had to do it. She was in god damn sixth year and was the only one in her class who couldn't handle one simple subject.
She tryed to imagine a perfect snake. Greenish, long... No, she didn't feel pushed or something like that. She knew that this was for her own good. If she wanted to become a good witch, then she had to learn many spells. THough, this wouldn't do anything good in life, but she had the interest against the snakes. And so she could just... create herself a pet.
Holding the picture in her mind how the snake should look like, she pointed with her wand at the staff:"Fera Verto," she said quietly and looked at the stick. It appeared to be the same as it was before. No movements, no skin. "Why can't I just say the spell and call out a real snake, not turn it from the walking stick?" she asked the professor, hiding her disapointment with curiosity.

Brandon didn't understand what was wrong. He'd seen the most useless students still manage to make their transformations even partially work. He raised his eyebrow and tapped his chin.
Matthias meowed.
"What'd you mean I'm using the wrong spell!" Brandon asked with a snobby chuckle, "Don't you think I know..." he winced, "Ah...yea."
Brandon had been using the wrong spell. He felt like a schoolboy caught out after dark. He laughed, "Well it'd work if we had the right spell." he sighed, "I think it's been a long long day." I'm sorry Sonne. Fera Verto only works on animate objects to turn them into inanimate objects. The spell to turn an inanimate to animate is Res Rei Verto."
He put the stick on his desk, "Well now that was embarsassing. Most teachers aren't supposed to make mistakes. At least not ones the students are aware of. You up for another try?"

Sonne raised her eyebrows and looked at the cat who meowed. Then she turned her blue eyes back at Brandon, impression on her face. A wrong spell? She sighed quietly. Not in disapointment, but how easy that all was supposed to be if she'd use the right spell. She listened to him, remembering every word what he said and nodded. Res Rei Vetro.
"Yes... I will try," she said quietly, thinking that it was better not to comment the awkward part about the spell. Yes, this was quite emberrasing but everyone made mistakes. Even the professors did. That was actually for encouragement. She looked again at the stick, imagining again the snake. How it will look like, the eyes, the tongue what slips in and out, skin and the color of it. When she was done with her imagination, she pointed her wand at the staff. "Res Rei Verto," she said in her quiet voice.
First nothing didn't happen. As she started to feel the new disapointment, she staff started to move. Sonne scowled at it and looked as the first scales appeared. Then it took the figure, then the eyes and for the last, it moved again. The snake hissed at both of them wich made Sonne step away.

Mattias hissed at the snake, baring her fangs.
"Bravo Sonne, that's a beauty," he reached down and picked up the snake,"Yes, you are beautiful aren't you," he said as he stroked the snake.
Shaking it lightly the snake stiffened up, returning to its previous nature, "See you can do it."
Matthias hissed again.
"Okay you'd have been able to do it a lot sooner if I'd had the right spell for you." he grinned, "and you made it look so easy. You know, you could easily catch up to the rest of the class. I'd be willing to help you if you need it."

Sonne looked at the cat then stepped closer to the table. She reached out her wand and smiled at the snake, taking it up. It crawled slowly on her hand till the neck and layed down. "Good," she murmured to the snake, touching it's head softly. Then she looked at the professor and shrugged carefully. "No," she said quietly. NO she wouldn't.
She sucked at transfigurations anyways. "First, I'd like to see what I can handle. Maybe then?" she looked at the snaeke's head what was on her right hand with what she held her wand. "I guess that you want your stick back?" she then asked, taking the snake off of her neck.

Brandon nodded his head, "Fera Verto will return it back to a stick," he said with a nod turning to pick up Matthias, "You're always welcome after class or even during class if you need any help."
Matthias purred in his arms,"I'm sure you've got things you'd like to do this evening. Thank you for coming by though." Brandon had been sure that Sonne was fully capable of it managing the spells and she'd proven that. Now he hoped her confidence would follow.

Sonne nodded to him and put the snake back on the table. Then she pointed at it with her wand and said the spell. She watched as the snake turned back into the non-moving staff and looked back at the professor. "Thank you," she said in a quiet voice. It was quite a pitty to make this animal disappear, but she wouldn't keep someone's thing in her hand. Probably she'll just go and look for another branch in forest.
She stepped away from the table and nodded once again. "Yes. And thank you so much for the spell. I think I will use it once again," she grinned. Of course she will. Not for impressing other slytherins. She never did that. "Yes. Now, guess that's all?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.
