Annette walked down the alley that was Diagon alley her heels clicking as she moved her dark cloak wrapped around her she had decided it was time to find a companion since nobody human seemed to want to come near her. She did not know why she had don't nothing for any one to stay away from her and it did not bode well for her in her teaching career if her students didn't want to come close to her.

So there she was walking down the alley toward the magical menagerie and it numerous animals inside , surly one would choose to be her familiar, her companion threw her life even if no human, wear wolf or vampire would take that chance. She pulled her cloak tight around her as she moved the day drawing in and the lamps switching on with each step she took drawing her ever closer.

Soon she reached the door and turned the old brass handle on it hearing the bell tinkle over her head as she stepped inside, each animal now wanting to add its voice to the rapture that greeted her upon entering the shop. She sighed as she walked around the shop birds snakes dogs rabbits mice and cats all sat looking at her and some creatures she could not even begin to describe , even a fat toad that sat in a glass case that croaked every time she passed by it.

She stopped for a moment at the rabbits but all just continued eating there carrots , sighing again she stood up and moved to a small cage something inside hissed and a thin black tail snaked out between the bars, flicking back and forth angrily at the world.
"why are you angry mister cat?" she asked the tail slipped back inside and two green eyes appeared the black whiskers twitched as if sizing her up for a strike , then as if a breeze blew past a black paw shot out but Annette was ready and tapped it.
"ah, ah mister cat , I'm not that slow" she said the cat tipped its head as if acknowledging her , then slowly sliding it back into the cage it gave a soft meow as if to say it wanted out , Annette lent down to look into the green eyes "what to call you mister cat " she said then heard a low growl like that of awolf and she smiled " Wolfbane " She said and the cat as if acepting her lowered its head and meowed softly.

Madison was glad it was the weekend and she had some time o get some important things done. It was her little sisters birthday coming up and she was being the best big sister and getting her a pet for Hogwarts. She wasn't sure just what to get here, but she decided to make the decision when she actually arrived to Magical Mengerie and see what they had, and what she thought her sister would like as a pet. There were only so many animals that a student could bring to school, so Madison had to be precise about what to get her sister for her birthday, she was a forth year already, they grow so fast.

Madison made her way via fluu powder to get to Diagon Alley were the store was she was headed. Not many students took their free time to travel at such a distance unless they had a good reason like Madison did. Madison walked through Diagon Alley until she finally approached the store named "Magical Menerie" and she walked inside. They had an assortment of different animals both muggle and magical alike. She walked through the store with a grin on her face, she loved god's little creatures, no matter what they were, she loved animals almost as much as her trusty plants.

Madison finally came across a litter of kitten, they were all so adorable and cute she could hardly decide witch one she should get for her sister. There was one hear the back that was a sweet orange color, it had stripes, god was it cute. Madison reached over and picked up "How would you like to be my little sisters birthday present?" she asked and the cat licked her nose, this was the cat for her alight, Madison walked over to the cashier when she noticed her charmed teacher with a cat too, so she walked over to her "Professor Livingston? What are you doing here?" She asked with a smile, patting the orange cat gently.

Annette smiled as Wolfbane seem to calm down his sleek black coat shining in the light of the shop , reaching out she unhooked the clip to the door of the cage , he moved like silk out the door stretching his slender back before moving to sit upon her shoulder , his black tail curled around her neck. On hearing a voice Annette turned to see Madison Corner a 7th year Ravenclaw. Annette smiled "Well hello Madison" she spied the orange kitten held in her arms " good choice for your sister's birthday" she said with a gentle smile this is wolfbane" she gentle reached up rubbing the back cats ear to which he gave a soft purr rubbing back against her "I was looking for a companion and was just about to purchase him, I think he has taken a shine to me as I to him " she smiled as he jumped onto the counter pawing at a black spiked collar with an Egyptian cat charm.

Annette smiled gently "We'll take that collar too" she said watching as the store owner clipped it around the cats neck. "you must have a charm as this particular cat never went with any one he always bit and scratched at everyone" the owner said, Annette smiled "its how you treat them that matters , respect them and they will respect you back." she said turning back to face Madison once more.

"So have you got everything ready for your return to school ?" she asked softly , she barely raised her voice as she spoke , even in classes her voice was always gentle, she saw things as a gift not to be spoiled by harsh words or rude gestures , reaching out she gently gave the orange kitten a rub on the top of its head feeling its soft fur against her fingers "what will you name this little one?" she asked , Wolfbane padded her shoulder as she spoke " I know Wolfbane , don't be so impatient " she said shaking her head and softly chuckling, she picked up a cat nip mouse and placed it next to Wolfbane who after a sniff padded it away "well you chose " she said watching him jump down to walk across the floor of the store and pick up a stuffed fish in his mouth, with a flick of his tail he walked back to the counter dropping it in front of the cashier. Annette could not help but be impressed "it seems he likes fish over mice" she smiled looking at Madison "I'm sorry would you care to join me for a coffee we could talk more " she asked as she reached into her and handbag she took out her purse taking out several gold coins she handed them over to the cashier and Wolfbane jumped to rest on her shoulders once more "I think he likes it up there, don't you" she said smiling to Madison.

Somehow Professor Livingston knew about her sisters birthday, and that she was buying her a cat, these magical professors always knew these things, there was just no hiding anything from them, no wonder so many people were seen in detention, Madison was just grateful she was not one of them. "How did you know it was her birthday, Professor? She asked curiously, last she knew, she wasn't a seer or anything, she teached charms, so how could she know such a thing? "Awh, cute cat." She said noticing her professor's new companion.

Professor Livingston always knew what she was talking about, she smiled and waited as her professor bought her collar and her cat and waited for it to be her turn. "I'd like to take this feline friend." Madison said with a grin. She handed the cashier more than enough money and the cat was hers. "Thanks." She said to the cashier and picked up the cat. Hopefully her brother wasn't going to get too jealous that her sister was getting a cat and her brother didn't get nearly something that good when he was a fifth year.

Professor Livingston asked what she was going to name her, she looked down at the cat and shrugged "I don't know, I'll let my sister decide." She said with a smirk and watched the little cat play. She held her sisters cat and pat it slowly. Then her professor asked if she would join her for some coffee. Madison smiled and nodded "Sure, as long as you don't mind my sisters present joining us." She said with a smirk. After her cat wnetinside her bag Madison giggled "Yeah, I guess he does." She said with another silent snicker.

Annette smiled as she gently stroked the orange kitten. "I make it a point of reading about all my students." She said admiring how the kitten seem to rub back against her fingers. "Its also how I know that you are a Ravenclaw, 7th year and an Animagus." she smiled Wolfbane wrapped his tail around her neck like a thin black silk scarf, the purr from him vibrating threw her like a mobile phone on vibrate "ok Wolfbane" she said smiling to Madison warmly "I would suggest that is a wise decision, since it will be her cat " she stroked the kitten once more before reaching back to Wolfbane. Giving him too a stroke behind his ear as she did.

Annette felt comfortable with Wolfbane like he had been hers all along. Her companion that she had never found till now. With a packet of cat treats and the stuffed fish she headed for the main door. "will you join me Madison, I am off to the tea shop , never had true English tea before." She said with a smile as she waited at the door for her. Wolf bane lay around her shoulders like a fur collar but she knew he would have to find his own entertainment while they had tea.

Gently stroking the cat Annette picked up a cat basket, it was a nice wicker one with a blue cushion and walked back. " This is so he can come into the cafe with us, so I can keep him close for the moment " She reached once again into her purse drawing out her coins. Opening the door to the basket she spoke to Wolf bane "I know you don't like these but just this once till we get to know each other , will you say in this one"[b/] The cat stretched and jumped down sniffing the door he then stepped inside and once more settled on the cushion. Annette took out the stuffed fish nd placed it in the basket "here is your fish to play with , thank you wolfbane" he seem to smile at her then close his eyes. Closing the door he smiled picking up the basket by its handle.
